The Evergreen Ballroom was a roadhouse in the best old-fashioned
sense of the word. I think I only went there once and I remember little
about it, probably having too much fun. Fortunately, its history is pretty
well documented by former Olympian Pete Blecha on HistoryLink.org and Rebecca Sanchez at ThurstonTalk.com.Check ‘em out!
This song was really fun to do. Joe came up with the whole “Thelonious
Monk” bit for the jazz section, he also insisted (rightly) that Merrilee Rush had to be in the song. Gene wisely pushed me aside and said “let me play some jazz chords on my semi-hollow body guitar” while Lisa got all swingin’. I think it was also Gene’s idea to put the “Louie Louie” riff in the end. Pure genius, right?

First album in 7 years from Olympians. It ranging from industrial to free jazz to slowcore folk, stoner rock to chamber in effortless leaps. Cool as fuck. Listen to this! Tom Dyer and The True Olympians
Nudity is my favorite Olympia band. Guitar ripping, Kraut rock inspired 4 women plus Dave. They are the real deal. All their albums are worthy! Tom Dyer and The True Olympians
